The Golden Samovar is a musical love-letter to the folklore of Russia. I based the vocals on the raspy, sobered voices of popular
Russian bards (such as Vladimir Vysotsky) who captured the hearts of the Soviet public with their passionately berserk manner of storytelling.
After five tiresome days of flailing around our Super8 camera, chasing cats, and cramming berries into each others' mouths; we all felt a bit beserk. . . in a good way.
